Daschle was Obama's first real betrayal of his "Change" mantra |
|
According to news reports, Obama said today that he didn't excuse Daschle's income tax error.
Bullshit.
If giving somebody a Cabinet position is not excusing somebody's behavior then there's very little that is.
Obama should have taken the lead and withdrawn the nominations of BOTH Geithner and Daschle. This is beginning to border on Bush-like obscene. Same old same old.

|
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 03:09 PM by nichomachus
Well, McClurkin was #2 -- or maybe 1. Then, there was Rick Warren. Then, Gates. So, maybe Daschle was really Number 4 -- or is it five. It's so hard to keep track.
The Obama cultists are working harder than Freepers to find excuses for all these.

Am I missing something here, just because the republicans love to make big empty threats, scream as loudly as possible, make lots of silly stupid noise to get noticed....
The republicans are by far the fucking minority party, they lost overwhelmingly.
The republicans love to preach democracy, well then, let's shove democracy down their lying, hateful, greedy little republican throats!

45. I don't think Daschle was that bad |
|
Daschle seems to support single payer (he considers it politically unfeasable mind you) in his book and reforming healthcare to make it more like the federal reserve, where competent people make the decisions independently of politics and where we research the most cost effective ways to address health.
His tax cheats were fairly minor, and he was willing to make amends.
