McCaskill just lied her ass off
Matthews' show. he asks her why Howard deans is getting diddly shit from Obama. What, he asks, is the reason for the bad blood.

McCaskill goes into the standard politician ear to ear smile and says she knows of no bad blood and that she doesn't know that Dean wants anything from Obama any how.

Feh ......

1. 1) Why the assumption of "bad blood"?
2) Why assume she's lying?

It's politics, and it's D.C. None of us has a clue what's actually happening around that issue. It's quite possible they simply don't get a long (I wouldn't be surprised). That's not "bad blood".

28. I don't know, as I stated above.
But having a skeleton in the closet isn't "bad blood" either.

15. They're reporting the same rumors that the Daily Kos is running with.
Like the "snub" of Dean not being at the DNC ceremony with Kaine, when Dean was on a flight to Puerto Rico. Or Kaine "killing" the 50 state strategy when he's on the record as saying that they'll continue it.

21. You got that all wrong.
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 06:33 PM by madfloridian
It has been verified that Dean was not asked to be there, and that it was preferred he not be there.

It was Samoa.

Also, Kaine is only 4th in the chain of command. Axelrod is the top guy.

http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/3478

WH > Axelrod > Dillon O'Malley > Kaine

They will continue the strategy in some form, but the Obama folks will pick the leaders. It will be top down not bottom up.

Way to kill excitement.

24. What are their sources? Sounds like their opinions. Now we believe whatever corporate media says?
Edited on Wed Feb-04-09 09:30 AM by ClarkUSA
Nothing Gov. Dean or Team O has ever said indicates there's been tension. In fact, Howard has been super-supportive
of his successor and shot down rumors he was snubbed, much to the dismay of some folks here who kept insisting Gov.
Dean was lying!

Yeah, let's believe Gov. Dean is lying about his total support for Team O/Chairman Kaine while insisting CNN tells the
truth -- without any solid sources for their BS -- because they've never gotten anything wrong about Team O and/or
Howard Dean, right? :eyes:

6. Nobody knows if she lied or not and she does not have a history of not being forthright in
her interviews or with the public.

We have no idea about what the relationship is between the WH and Dean.

We have no idea or not if he wants to be in a cabinet position or some other appointment.

Your post is nothing more than your own personal assumption with no backup at all.

Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 06:01 PM by blue_onyx
You don't know that's there any bad blood between Obama and Dean. Obama doesn't owe Dean anything. If Obama wants to pick Dean for a position, fine. If he doesn't, fine. It's his choice and I'm sure Obama has his reasons for not picking him. To accuse McCaskill of lying with no proof seems wrong and unnecessary.

He plans to provide speeches and organizing strategies to various center-left parties in other countries.

so she doesn't know the full emotional involvement of Obama and Dean in personal animosity. :sarcasm: She doesn't realize that Obama is putting his own hatred ahead of the country and his agenda. :sarcasm:

17. Republican Senators are hypocrites
Edited on Tue Feb-03-09 06:22 PM by hfojvt
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090202/ap_on_go_co/congress_stimulus

First, they complain that the stimulus bill contains too much spending that is not primarily about economic stimulus, and also that it does not contain enough tax cuts.

"Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said Sunday the massive stimulus bill backed by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats could go down to defeat if it's not stripped of unnecessary spending and focused more on housing issues and tax cut."

Then they complain about the tax cut going to poorer people

"Among the major changes Kyl said would be needed to gain Republican support in the Senate was the tax rebate for individuals and couples, which he criticized as going to too many people who didn't pay the tax to start with. He also criticized the bill for seeking to create nearly three dozen government programs and giving states far more money than they need."

Even though a) it is a tax cut, and b) it definitely would be a good economic stimulus because poorer people are more likely to spend extra income.

18. I felt like she was not so much lying as evading
the truth. I think it's a known secret in Washington that Obama and Rahm don't want Dean and no one wants to stir up trouble to talk about it because they don't know how deep it goes. I think they all know part of it but not the full story. maybe they are afraid Obama is not as squeaky clean as he says.

I like Howard. I was supporting him before he dropped out in 2004. So I don't take all this too well. I wonder how many of his supporters that created most of the wins in 2006 with all their internet use and parties feel about all this?

Obama needs to have a long private chat with Rahm and say if we can have republicans in our cabinet we can have Dean!

19. I am a big Dean supporter
I and think there is no bad blood between Obama and Dean.

I do think that the progressive wing is gonna get a wake up call from the corporate DLC. But that too would have happened if Dean (or Kerry) had won in 2004.

Progressives would love to have a radical liberal in the white house. We really would.

20. so, exactly what does Dean want from Obama that he's not getting?
The premise of the accusation that McCaskill lied is that Dean wants something and he's not getting it. So, what exactly does Dean want?
