Question about Google Street View |
|
My town used to have the Street View option, but just now when I tried to use it, I no longer can find it - have we been deGoogled or something???
Are they cutting back on which towns they cover, even if they've already imaged them???
How strange.

2. No, they changed the interface. |
|
Click the little person-shaped icon in the upper left corner of the map, and it will go into street-view mode. Definitely not an obvious interface.

5. Is this where you get a map, and it is now an overhead view whereas |
|
before it was the entire street - including if you zoomed in close enough, you could see the toys in the back seat of the car in the driveway??

6. No, this is even better. |

They actually have a van with cameras on it and drive up and down every street taking pictures. Now you can click on a map and "walk around" the neighborhood, rotate your view, zoom in, and everything. I've spent hours exploring places I have never been (and some I would never feel safe walking around in reality). It's also fun to find places where you live or have been. I showed my aunt her house on street view, and we could actually see her watering her garden! Here's a link to Times Square: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Times+Square,+New+York,+New+York,+New+York+10036&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=50.69072,114.257812&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FVDpbQIdlhGX-w&split=0&z=16&iwloc=addr&layer=c&cbll=40.757548,-73.985659&panoid=EmstE7o_wpjE82qiNmCiWg&cbp=12,64.68222598828653,,0,5Have fun!

9. Our house is shown from last April during construction, complete with porta-potty. |
|
It's a simply elegant view.
Nice house behind the trees? but a big dumpster and porta-potty is most of what you can see.
