this economic crisis is far too serious to continue to kowtow to the republicans

America did not elect a Republican congress. America did not elect a Republican president.

Therefore they should not be controlling everything....it's time to do what's right....even if it costs a lot "political capital".

1. I disagree
They need to get a spine and make them talk untill they cant anymore as the filibuster was originally. Now just the thraet and they roll over. Think long term as the Dems will not be in charge forever.

2. I disagree...
...at least for now.

If they want to filibuster, let 'em. Or, more accurately, make 'em. Force them to put on a real filibuster. Get Obama out there asking why the Republics want to block much-needed relief for Main Street, why they want to continue failed policies, why they have slapped the hand that was extended to them.

The nuclear option could come back to bite us. Let's see how the voting comes out, and let's force them to do it if that's what they have in mind.

3. I have to call my Senators tomorrow...
it sucks because it's a total waste of time. They are going to vote for it anyway. So I guess I have to call other people's Senators. And I hate that.

4. Not currently possible
The Dems do not have the votes to pass the bill as it now stands, even some dems are against it.It will only be passed if it is amended to suit some repubs. and a few stray dems. After the Senate votes on it it has to go to a joint committee to be amended for a final vote.Obama is not helping himself with his recent missteps.
