Bush - 8 years of failure but no apologies. Obama - "I screwed up" in week 2. priceless. |
|
We have a human being as our president. A brilliant, charismatic, but as all human beings, flawed, and BIG enough that he can call them like he sees them. This is a man with great self confidence and self awareness.
If Obama is a giant of a person, he who was replaced - best said by Jimmy Stewart (aka George Bailey) - "in the grand scheme of things, you're nothing but a measley, scurvy little spider".
And, hey Dick Cheney - "And that goes for you, too"!

6. Exactly, Obama knows if he just says it, we can move on and not waste time that he and we don't have |
|
He is in the business of running this country, not covering up mistakes. he admitting his boo boo's just allows him and us to move on and concentrate and the real issues. A GOP president would be wasting time and money trying to cover up their mistakes, all while ignoring our country. We've had enough of that.

2. Way too soon to drag out "I screwed up." |
|
It's a process. I don't see how it's viewed as Obama screwing up. Daschel screwed up and he's out...end of story.

4. Obama is just trying to be up front and humble. It's a nice change of pace. |

7. "Drag out?" It's not a political gimmick. It's a sense of responsibility. Maybe... |
|
...you didn't recognize it after the past eight years.

10. I'm not suggesting in any way Obama is being |
|
anything other than sincere. There will be mistakes and situations where that comment will be necessary, I just don't view this situation as being a screw-up by Obama.

3. Priceless...or spineless? |

I, for one, am kind of tired of being one of the guys that always slinks away and says "oops, my bad!"
A Republican would drop trou, take a shit on your shoes, then call a press conference to blame it all on you and your shoes and your unwed momma, and he'd have three dozen guest spots on the morning tv "news" shows before you could say "bipartisanship."
So once again we stand scratching our junk wondering why we keep getting slammed by these people. We're the kid in the schoolyard who keeps falling for that "I'm going to try to hold down your fist" challenge, only to walk home with blackened eyes year after year.
Democrats just never learn. You can't play nice with Republicans.

5. It's takes more strength to be humble and honest then it does to lie and be fake. |
|
I don't see these virtues as weakness, just the opposite.
The GOP will do anything to not admit they screwed up, they will spend time, money and effort needed to govern our country to hide their mistakes, all while our country goes down the shitter. It takes a real man to say, "you know what I messed up, I see where I messed up and I now understand how to avoid that same mistake, now let us all move on"
I will forever be proud that the DEmocrats take the high road and strive for ethics, honesty and the desire to work together even with those who disagree with us.

9. Really? We have to BE Rape-Publicans to BEAT the Rape-Publicans? |
|
I totally agree that our people need to be more shrewd and decisive, but we "can't play nice??" Really? We have to go dirty?
