Are we revolting yet?
Why yes, it is revolting what "they" are doing to us, but I ask are we FIGHTING BACK?

Nope, we are still pacifying ourselves with tv and super value menus. The good news is that moer and more people are getting near rock bottom. We need to start measuring the Rock Bottom Quotient- people who have hit rock bottom and have nothing left to lose. We are hearing and reading stories daily about people killing themselves over a foreclosure or layoff. I cant wait to hear about people striking back against what they perceive to be the source of their ills.

SO until enough of us hit rock bottom nothing will change. Congress is still run by rich people who will care for their own. We have acted for incremental change, but without COngressional support, even Obama is limited on what he can do.

Til then if you'd like to be happy (or happier):
-Kill your tv,
-Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we may not afford groceries,
-Share time with family and friends and help them forget their ills,
and have a plan for what to do when it all falls apart.

It's really not too bad once you've hit rock bottom. Just let go. There is pure freedom in rock bottom.

1. The descriptive, yes.
The action, no.

Too many bellies full. Too many toys still at disposal.

I don't know how we'll ever manage to be as revolting as they are.

17. What has that got to do with anything? Obama is office now & must be held accountable
like every politician should be.

It's time to take off your rose colored glasses.

Perspective is good.

Rose colored glasses? Are you just attacking people randomly?

11. "Freedom is just another word for "Nothing else to lose"".
Make the Republicans filibuster in full view of the public. Then sit back and do nothing while the global economy tanks. 2010 will bring the rest of the Democrats we need to get this stuff done.
Best quote yet, Barney Franks "a tax cut never fixed a bridge." Here's what else: a tax cut never sent a kid to school, it never stopped a terrorist, it never won a war, it never provided food stamps to the needy, it never paid a hospital bill, it never made the auto companies make fuel efficient cars, it never conserved a single acre of open space. What else can you think of?

21. Maybe I have hit it.
I don't know yet. I know that I am as Mad as Hell. I just haven't seen anything that I can get behind. I feel like all people are doing is just wishing for yesterday. I don't want the past I want the present and future. It seems to me too many people are looking over their should and wanting to go back not forward.

22. WELL what we have done
Moved a cheaper place when we lost jobs, then an even cheaper place..
Partner has a job, I'm now disabled.\
We saw this coming and tried to tell people even on here and I was called Doom and Gloomer. I suggested stocking up on beans and rice. They have a long shelf life.
We found a small abandoned farm and bought it..cheap.
We planted a garden, we eneded up with loads of squash, beans(every bean came up, none of the potatoes or carrots did, drought). So we made up about 20 quarts of tomato sauce, dried 20 pounds of various kinds of beans, froze squash slices pre floured to fry, same with green tomatoes, a bunch of mustard and collard greens. Good thing too as the winter garden got frozen before the snow peas, could do anything,
This year we will be planting orchard tho it will be a few years before pomegranates, figs, olives, cherries, peaches make.
All throughout the last regime I called, I wrote, I signed petitions.
We have insulated ourselves as best we could.
We are also teaching and have gotten our neighbors to adopt organic growing methods. We have also chosen heirloom seeds, they breed true, you can save the seeds from year to year and do not need chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
There are also pages on the internet telling how you can intersperse different plants to aid in growth and help protect from insects and attract beneficial insects(pollinators)
They have chickens we get eggs from them and buy honey from her father who has beehives.
We hope to have enough surplus to donate to Second Harvest, for without them we would have literally starved in 2002/3.
I reminded my mom last night on the phone when she started about the economy, that remember at Thanksgiving 2004 that I warned you to move your investments to solar cos..by the way did you do that. She did, she has taken a hit, but not nearly as bad.
We don't have any investments to worry about aside from the farm, and it had been down valued prior to buying it 2 years ago. It had been abandoned for a few years, but it is a newer modular, with enough room for some relatives if things get too bad for them. We took that into consideration when we were looking.
It just happened that we found a 9 acre with a 4/3 house on it.

23. We, the masses are always revolting to the elite, demanding our rights
and our share of the economy, upsetting their little country club lives. It is time for a revolution though, something that will get their attention and hopefully scare the shit out of them.

26. "There are none so free as those with nothing to lose"
"If you want to control a man, give him a mortgage"

Just a few words of timeless wisdom from the fast set.
