when am i going to see any of these things?
i'm not the ever skeptic uber-doubter of the O admin, nor am i one of those gaga for O kool aid drinking "give him time, it's only been X days" folks either.

i am the guy that donated because i believed. i liked what i heard at the rallies i attended. i am the one sitting with a watchful eye, and when i disagree i phone, write letters, i do what i can in other words. i speak out when i feel it's necessary.

BUT

i have an issue today.

i don't know why NOW i am bothered so much by this, but regardless i am.

what i want to know is, when are we going to see:

subpoenas/indictments/convictions of the * admin
universal health care
GLBT rights domestic and militarily
education reform
etc.

i see that there is finally some movement in some areas, and i know i sound impatient. i can assure you this is not a lack of patience showing, to me, and millions of americans that voted for him, these are things that should be getting addressed immediately. the economy is obviously the first priority, and i';m not naive to the fact that things will undoubtedly have to take a back seat for the time being, but when?

i have confidence (or rather for the first time ever, "faith" using term extremely loosely) that something good will finally be done about these and many other issues. BUT it wouldn't hurt for him to possibly reiterate a few things publicly of how long it will be until these become a priority. maybe i'm just bitching, maybe it's a valid concern that's beginning to swell internally, maybe it's paranoia after surviving the last 8 yrs. who knows.

i need to know. i need to know because i need to know how loud i SHOULD be screaming. am i being too patient with new admin and situation? am i "jumping the gun"?

when am i going to see any of these things?

1. You do realize it's been only 15 days, right?
Get a friggin grip.

And by the way, the first on your list is not going to happen. No one ever promised you that it would.

i understand that.
i understand what all of you are saying.

what i'm asking is "when will it be addressed or mentioned?"

i know he never promised anything about pursuing war crimes against shrubbery and co, i'm saying these are things i'd like to see, most of which are things that everyone wants.

8. There is no way you're going to get a specific timeline.
Mostly because if something comes up that's vital, and something ALWAYS does, he'll be accused of breaking a promise or something asinine like that. It's really, really bad form to even suggest that he should have some kind of timeline in place for anything he's not going to handle imminently.

9. There is no answer to your question,
and the idea that any administration runs on the timetable dictated by its supporters is not entirely realistic.

Fifteen days. What have you accomplished in fifteen days? Obama is still trying to get a Cabinet in place. And he's done a wonderful job of undoing some of the most hateful of Fuckface's policies.

Relax. We have no idea what he faces each and every day, and your impatience - please forgive me - is laughable. What did you expect? A magic wand?

First, he needs an intact Cabinet.

2. You'd be hard-pressed to call ME an Obama Apologist, but GIVE HIM AN EFFING BREAK already.
I used "effing" instead of fucking because someone commented that we should try to lay off, and I'm feelin' generous right about now. :hi:

5. He's not going to do a damn thing..
by himself, and with so many gunning for him for a myriad of reasons, you might as well cross everything off your list. Unless of course, we can crown him King, or make him a dictator.

10. I think right now 'we' need to call Senators..
and tell them to get on board and pass the stimulus package ASAP. If these people hear no feedback, no outrage they certainly aren't going to consider doing anything different. We need more we's to call a few Senators a day. It would be more than has ever been done before.

7. It will come in stages.
Edited on Wed Feb-04-09 03:20 PM by HubertHeaver
Stage 1: Republicans in congress will squeal like stuck pigs.
Stage 2: Right-wing talk show hosts begin to become unhinged--like they're on drugs. (oxcycotin and the like)
Stage 3: The full extent of the disaster will begin to emerge. (You ain't seen nothin' yet!)

etcetera

It has taken almost 30 years to get us to this point. It will certainly take more than 30 days to get us back so, yes, you are being just a tad impatient.

Edited to add "etcetera"

11. He's been in office 2 weeks. And is trying to save our country from financial calamity, which
if such goes down, he won't be able to achieve a single one of those things.

You need to take a chill pill, seriously.
