You'd think the dumb-a$$es in the Congress would have learned their lesson.
If the Dems don't get behind Obama and pass this Stimulus Package, or force the Repukes to read the "effing" Phone Book as they fillibuster help for our imploding economy, it will be because of a very small, but very vocal MINORITY!
Our entire legislative process has been hi-jacked by a bunch of "knuckle-dragging, mindless, hate-radio lemmings" who happen to have the Senate phone number on "speed dial".
They listen to their fat-a$$ masters, Limpballs and Insanity, and then burn up the phone-lines at the Capitol.
53% of the American voting population STOMPED A FESTERING HOLE in the wingnut conservative movement in November, and yet, we're at risk of allowing a few hundred thousand "barking, pinheaded wingnuts" to derail a stimulus package our country desperately needs.
Oh, and make no mistake about it. The fight over this bill is about a hell of a lot more than the Stimulus Package. It will set the agenda for Health Care Reform, Withdrawal from Iraq, the Presidents Budget, and Federal Court Appointments, etc.

2. The immigration reform bill was a joke |
|
Specifically, the joke that defines a camel as a horse created by a committee.

5. As much of a joke as doing nothing? |

We could have gotten a good, or decent Immigration Reform Bill, but instead, OUR elected representatives caved to our "bitter" angels.
We allowed a vocal horde to turn it into a xenophobic, racist referendum...and our Reps caved, instead of doing the "heavy lifting" that was required.
I don't know about you, but I'm hoping that with Obama we can appeal to our "better" angels.
This "Blitzkreig" of the Senate is just a larger version of the "fat, pasty wingnuts" beating down the doors of the county election office in Florida in 2000.
If we allow them to drive the agenda...we all lose!

7. Oh, but they DID do something--maintain illegal immigration's status quo |

The xenophobic rhetoric and the Congressional soap opera that went on were meant to destroy the bill. Immigration reform is too dangerous--it might embolden organized labor and drive up wages.

6. Don't wanna be a dick... |

but that's how a democracy works. If we were the ones contacting our reps as well as the Repukes are, we wouldn't be calling ourselves "knuckle-dragging, mindless, hate-radio lemmings," we'd be calling us "We The People."
