Cop punches woman in the head 4 times
Video of Sheila Stevenson's encounter with officer Carlo Drogo:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IHL1_CZExs
(News report, 2min 13sec)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=St7FwkAukR8
(Police dashcam footage, 2min 47sec)

In the course of apprehension, officer Drogo pepper sprayed himself in the face. So, while 2 backup cops held her facedown on the road, Drogo punched her head 4 times.

Her crime? She was riding her bicycle on the sidewalk.

Stevenson has filed a civil suit against Drogo, who has sinced resigned. Meanwhile, there is currently a warrant out for her arrest for drug possession, stemming from the videotaped encounter which happened a year ago. Retaliation for bad publicity?

5. I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying it was the woman's fault that the officer
sprayed himself with pepper spray in the face? Are you really referring to a rider of bike on the sidewalk as a "perp"? Are you serious?

4. The punches appear to be out of frustration only. Luckily the cop punches like a 3yr old

Even if the person has to go to jail for other offenses, she deserves a little justice over the abuse.

6. For riding a bike on a sidewalk?...........
:wtf: Is this a new law, you can't ride your bike on the sidewalk? I ride my bike on the sidewalk and have never gotten arrested.

7. It was in my town
Until a kerfluffle about 2 years ago, when a teen was dragged off the sidewalk, cuffed, and taken downtown. That there was actually a law on the books seemed to take everyone but the arresting officer by surprise. The city council moved pretty quick to axe it.

10. Where I live, you're not allowed to ride on the sidewalk if you're older than 14
thought people violate it all the time and I have never once seen it enforced.

8. Too bad it was pepper spray and not his own gun
What a fuckwit. The assisting pigs are not much better. This whole 911 hero-worship thing for people who are paid to do a job has gotten out of hand. They actually need to be held to a higher standard than the general public. They actually know the law, so the punishment should be three times as great. Unfortunately, law enforcement is the most corrupt business organization in America today. Their business model actually has them preying on innocent people to boost numbers in order to make the case for new and bigger jails. Another Republican wet dream (law and order) reveals it's ugly face.

9. He stands by his actions?

I hope this asshole is out of law enforcement for good. I also hope he loses in civil court.

Where the hell was she supposed ride? In traffic at night? There is about a six inch painted line and then grass. There is no other place to ride that bike safely but the sidewalk.

12. He is an ass and supports his own ass-holiness
Furthermore, he is too stupid to realize he made a mistake, and too arrogant to admit it. This is why he is a cop.

11. I don't think the warrant is retaliation...
it's entirely plausible that the warrant has been out there for the entire year and she never got arrested.
