We need to stop calling it the Stimulus Bill or Package and instead call it
the "Jobs and Economic Recovery Program".

That's what Obama's staff is calling it - I wish Obama would do the same.

Frame the debate - that's how we can win this thing.

It's alot harder to explain why you are voting against the "Jobs and Economic Recovery Plan" then a stimulus bill.

11. What are you talking about?
This is what Obama's office is calling it and it sounds better than a Stimulus Plan - don't you think?

There are funds in that bill for medicaid, foodstamps, unemployement and more.

Bobbolink - I am on your side.

12. What am I talking about....?
You're "on my side", but you can't figure this out?

Try trading places with me, and see what it's like being IGNORED by "progressives".

Then I think you'd understand.

17. Bobbo - I have someone in my immediate family that is unable to work and I do know that this bill
help to save her benefits that at this very moment the Republicans who run this state are trying to take away.

21. then.... it's NOT just about jobs, right?
Why can't you SAY that?

Why play into that conservative edict that the only worthwhile people are people with JOBS???

Really, why can't any of you understand what it's like to be so damned ignored and vilified, by the very people who are supposed to CARE??

You can have the last word... go ahead and blast me like everyone else who refuses to understand and to empathize.

I won't read any more, so go right ahead. You all need someone to look down on.

14. The fucking whores on "AP Radio News" just called it the "Tax and Spending Bill"
No, I'm not kidding. And they usually refer to the President as "Obama", as opposed to "President Obama". Which is a relatively minor offense, except when you know they went out of their way to say "President Bush" several times in one sentence if they could get away with it.

Why do Nova M and What's Left of Air America continue to use this hack "news service"??

16. Exactly. And who is standing up on the Left? No one.
Obama needs help, he just can't do it ALL by himself. Where is Spineless Harry? Too busy defending all of his really good repuke friends in the Senate Social Club.

18. Seriously - that is why the repugs are making headway on this - they are all out there
spewing their talking points.

Harry Reid is worthless. But - Durbin is doing a great job today.
He is sticking to our talking points.

15. It's good marketing.

the Dems need good marketing. They call these bills some technical name, like SCHIP, which only the Dems can understand. You are 100% correct. Let's urge the Speaker to start naming these bills so that they reflect a positive result.

Headline: REPUKES REFUSE TO VOTE FOR JOBS BILL! That will get more attention.
