Why someone who doesn't NEED replacing? The only positive thing in this situation is that if Justice Ginsberg does step down due to her illness, at least it won't be a Republican giving us another fucking fascist on the court.

1. Please oh Gods
Do not let a spirit of 'bipartisanship' prevail.
We cannot lose another human justice.
SCOTUS is a crypto fascist incubator, as it stands.

3. But, IF Obama nominates an appeaser, will most here say that we just do not get the wisdom and
brilliance of his strategy?

If he continues down this dead-end, bipartisan path, maybe he is not as brilliant as many have tried to say.

15. He tried.
He said he would try bipartisanship.

While he made the unclenched fist comment about states we are in conflict with at the moment, it is just as true of the republicans.

Unfortunately, they are now the party of Joe the Plumber.

5. Obama's going to place three or four Justices. Stevens and Breyer
are right behind Ginsburg, and if he gets a second term, there's a very good chance he will replace Scalia and even Souter might give it up.

My worry is that his nominations will look like his cabinet and stick us with another generation of corporate rule.

8. He wouldn't dare :)
Not after having to look his wife and daughters in the eye, because it is them and their peers who would suffer the most under a rethug justice.

Stevens, Breyer and Souter we need. I'd be awfully happy to see Scalia, Alito and Thomas go, however.

12. Patience, BOSS, patience ...
Scalia's getting on in years, and not looking too healthy either.

13. That was my first thought too. Watch Obama ask the Republicans,
in the spirit of bi-partisanship, who they think should replace her.

Sorry. I just thought I'd bitch about it before it happens!

I would like to see the millions that were in the streets at the Inauguration be in the streets protesting.
