1. Exactly.
But they are making an Ass load. It would help them. I am stating the obvious though. I will never understand how the Red Kool-Aid masses don't see this. They somehow continue to talk their sheep into believing their agenda actually helps the average Joe.

7. THOSE and OTHER Americans need the stimulus
You don't have to be unemployed to need the stimulus. You can be underemployed or retired as well.

6. We just need massive numbers.
They need to become a super Minority. CNBC doesn't help. They have just been ripping the Dems all day long. Of course they pander to the ultra rich Repugs, but it's still a shame that a major broadcasting station like that would be so blatant. Now Maria Barfaromo is talking. She's one of them. She just bought some 6$ Millions dollar brownstone...so I'm sure she's fully in touch with the pains of her housekeeper.

8. But... but... TAXES ARE EVIL!!!
Honestly, most of the asshole republican voters interviewed during the campaign who were most concerned about taxes probably didn't pay any in the first place.

10. sweet jebus, they just do not get it,
i am not asking for a handout or welfare or food stamps or vouchers or whatever, I just want a decently paying job. I am 50 years old, and this is the first time I have ever ever not worked, ever.

and please not, I am not ranking on social programs or spending, really I am not, I don't see my family getting through this rough patch without help, it just that I would rather have one job that pays decently. A job, one family wage job, that is all I am asking for.

14. I have been watching C-Span 2
all day and one of the senators I can't remember which one right now but of course it was a Dem said that 49 Million people don't pay income tax (which means they don't even earn $5,000 a year) but they pay payroll tax with ever single paycheck they get and they are completely left out of this jobs bill and they are some of the people that need it the most. Good point.

12. no, YOU don't get it. they are not working BECAUSE of the high tax rates.
what kind of american would bother working, say, as waitstaff, when the top tax rates are what they are?

i mean, you spend all your days just hoping you're going to get some billionaire in your section who will tip you a million bucks, but what's the point if you're only left with $650,000 or so after taxes?

now, if that kind of tip netted you $750,000 or more, THAT would be an incentive to wait tables! so we must cut the tax rate on the highest income to encourage people to work and do their best!

:sarcasm:

16. The "idea" is that tax cuts allow businesses to hire more people...
Or individuals with money to spend more of it. It's still completely wrong, of course.

17. The Repukelicans seem to be on some kind of death march
They just don't get it. They're acting like they want to third-worldize American workers, which I believe they do. They're hastening their own demise. Their symbol should be changed from the elephant to a dinosaur, 'cause they're going down.
