Have fun (or maybe not) looking at mortgage and credit defaults right in your city! |
http://data.newyorkfed.org/creditconditionsmap/This is through the 2nd Quarter 08. I think current conditions may be worse.

4. It's in the fine print at the bottom of the map. The darker the worse things are |
There is a wide swath of grey running through the left center of the map which stands for no data. This is because those counties have small populations and so will possibly show a disproportionate statistic - 2 houses and 1 in default and you would have adefault rate of 50%.

11. Interesting link, not easy to navigate |
I checked out my old homestead in NJ, a definitely upscale community, and the foreclosure rate is through the roof and CC is not far behind. Boy am I glad I got out of this shit in 2002 with a good buyout. I'm just sorry the ex blew threw the money so fast. As for my former neighbors, most of them are getting what they deserve, I just hope the working people in the area can hold on until things get better. I don't think it will happen for most, but the best always show their worth in hard times.

12. Just click on the state you want to look at and then click on the county you want to look at |
and actually, the info comes up if you do just hold the cursor over the county.
