The Pukes' "solution" to everything is tax cuts, tax cuts, and more tax cuts. |
|
Can someone get a shrink to declare those mofos insane? The old canard about insanity being trying the same thing over and over again and hopping you get a different result and all that...

2. and you know what's funny? Somehow I never pay any less taxes |
|
despite years of so-called tax cuts.
Because, you know, they're not really cuts for anyone who works for a living.

10. It's an example of how the average person is a sucker if one frames the issue right. |

Linguist George Lakoff has been talking about this for years. This is why the GOP uses terms like "tax RELIEF" and "DEATH tax", and calls a flat tax a "FAIR tax". It seems cynical, but politics is less about lofty ideals then it is about fucking with people's minds by framing the issues in a certain way.

3. It's not a "tax cut" -its a freakin LOAN FROM CHINA |
|
So they get their refund check and they really think it comes out of a pot of money that is marked "taxes"? These idiots must think money literally grows on trees or something. There are no taxes left to cut - its all been spent!

4. No, they also like Deregulation and Privatization. |
|
They have 3 tools in their economic arsenal and everything else they propose is a form of the these 3.
1. - Tax cuts (for the wealthy). 2. - Deregulation (for wealthy corporations). 3. - Privatization (government functions to be performed only by wealthy corporations, while corporate risk is transferred to the government).
The repukes can't think outside their tiny little boxes.

If tax cuts worked so well (or at all), we wouldn't be in this mess. The fact is there IS a legitimate roll for government, and it cannot fulfill that roll if it is not adequately funded.

9. More Ronald Reagan bullshit! |
|
Let's cut the top rate from 70% to 28% and watch that ol' deficit soar. And soar it did! And George W Bush took Reagan's philosophy to the extreme. And with Reagan's "government is the problem" as his guiding light, with no regulations, we are where we are today.

11. Republicans keep selling this lie. |
|
They say they can cut taxes and eliminate wasteful spending. In reality, they cannot cut spending in proportion to their tax cuts and must issue more treasuries to make up the shortfall. Their ideals are broken but they keep pushing them anyway.

16. Unfortunately, it's a particularly easy lie to sell. |

People have always wanted desperately to believe that it's good for everybody if they contribute less.
