My email to my Senators

Dear Senator Lautenberg/Menendez,

I am writing you this in support of President Obama's stimulus bill. As one of several unemployed New Jerseyans, I think it's crucial that we stop the downward spiral that is jobs in this country.

The Republican ideals of tax cuts do not work either. We've had 28 years of Reaganomics, and this is where it got us. Tax cuts will not help people when their income is not there.

The Republicans have waged a was on "pork." I don't see any problem with pork if it will put people back to work. I would not call much-needed infrastructure repair pork as the GOP would. Besides if it puts people to work, then the US treasury would get income tax revenue, and since their paychecks will be spent, local businesses will stay in business, and state and local governments will have sales tax revenue.

As your constituent, and a fellow Democrat, please vote yes on the stimulus bill, and don't let the GOP water it down like they want to. The American people spoke and voted the GOP out this election cycle.
