Obama to GOP: Shit Or Get Off the Pot! Americans Are Getting Angry.
I like the Obama we are seeing now. I knew it was there, but was just waiting for it to show. And it has begun.

Obama is going to demonstrate to all the loudmouth Republicans that they don't scare him one bit. And that he knows that when it comes to fear, that those tables are turned. Americans are with Obama and not the GOP. That's power. Obama has it. And he will use it.

Republicans stupidly misread Obama's good nature and willingness to work with them as a sign of weakness. Was that ever a mistake!

This morning Obama has begun telling the GOP where the bear shits in the woods and that it is the Republicans who are on very thin ice with the American people.

Americans are listening when our President scolds the GOP that is "inexcusable and irresponsible" to delay any longer his economic recovery legislation in Congress with an estimated 3.6 million Americans losing their jobs since the Republican recession began.

Obama to Republicans: Shit or Get Off the Pot!

I love this President!

Now is the time for all good Americans to support their country by supporting the president.

3. Is it just me, or is McConnell looking scared?
He has this deer in the headlights look, like either things are happening too fast and he can't keep up or that someone has told him to shut up, they will handle it. Someone like The Boner?

He just looks strange to me.

15. I think you are on to something. His demeanor has changed.
McConnell is a politician and he knows he might just be leading the Republicans into a losing battle with the public. He looks a lot less cocky today.

4. He needs to be telling the Democrats in the Senate to get their shit together
He needs to be telling the Democrats in the Senate to get their shit together. We don't need the Republicans for anything, why not just ignore them?

11. He said it.
"These numbers demand action. It is inexcusable and irresponsible to get bogged down in distraction and delay while millions of Americans are being put out of work. It is time for Congress to act."

"That's 3.6 million Americans who wake up every day wondering how they are going to pay their bills, stay in their homes, and provide for their children. That's 3.6 million Americans who need our help."

"The American people did not choose more of the same. They did not send us to Washington to get stuck in partisan posturing, or to turn back to the same tried and failed approaches that were rejected in the last election. They sent us here with a mandate for change, and the expectation that we would act."

"These Americans are counting on us. All of us in Washington must remember that we're here to work for the American people. And if we drag our feet and fail to act, this crisis will turn into a catastrophe. We'll continue to get devastating job reports like today's — month after month, year after year."

Obama has given the Republicans a lot of rope to hang themselves with in front of the nation.

Obama wins this fight in the eyes of the public. And the Republicans lose.

12. Bipartisanship only works when both sides are negotiating in good faith.
It's clear the GOP won't. They scream, we make a concession, they scream about something else - they're only using bipartisanship to try to game the system.

In that case, fuck bipartisanship.

16. Yes, there's no negotiation when one side only screams
Juan Cole, quoted today at Digby's site, said it's like taking a woman to dinner. You say you want to go for Italian, she says ehe wants to dine on tire rims and anthrax; what would a compromise look like?

10. Careful. Apparently we can't say we love the president or that he's inspirational
because that means we're "worshippers" who think he's some kind of diety.

I happen to agree with every word you wrote. :) and :hi:
