Poll question: A no-win binary poll on immunity for torturers |
|
Panetta has made the clearest statement to date: The official policy of the administration is to not prosecute CIA agents who followed legal orders to use torture (they use the euphemism of "enhanced interrogation techniques").
It can be imagined that going after these little guys might well make it harder to get to the big guys - Cheenee and Rumsfeld and their camp followers and hangers on.
So the binary poll: Would you rather we get prosecutions for the little fish or the big fish

1. Yep, that's a no-win poll |
|
And for Panetta to issue a blanket statement even before any serious investigation has been mounted is nonsense. Made particularly nonsensical by the phrase "legal orders to use torture." No such thing.
