13. This occurred after WWII
In lieu of higher salaries companies promised good retirements and medical benefits, most of which would be funded at a later date. That worked for awhile until the advent of the imperial senior executives, who reneged on these promises and plundered pension funds while slashing medical benefits over time. The result is before us today, the 'ownership' society where each of us is on our own. Whenever executives slashed benefits they declared phantom profits because known future liabilities were reduced. Little accounting trick there, and it comes in pretty handy if you don't have a clue how to turn an actual profit at the company you managed to get control of.

If you think I'm making this up, look at the historical distribution of wealth over the past 30 years. This is a distinct legacy of Reaganomics. The American dream is in shambles and we have hardly raised an objection to its demise.

2. Greedy rich people, stealing from poor and middle class people,
breaking promises... That's exactly what got us here. :(

And those greedy executives are still trying to milk every last penny out of our economy. They get billions in bailout money, and what do the rest of us get?

3. Right. Tax the bastards back into the stone age.
They've been stealing from us for a century. Shamelessly pilfering from every paycheck, pension and benefit.

They refuse to fairly compensate those who labor to make them rich. I say we take it back through the tax system. Use the federal government to get back what is OURS, at gunpoint if need be and, quite frankly, the more humiliating and infuriating it is for the pampered elite thieves the better I'll like it.

The more Hannity and Limbaugh hem and haw about socialism or marxism the better. I hope they CHOKE with rage. Fuck 'em.

4. We just need to make sure we strip away all the tax loopholes
they have spent the past century creating for themselves. It does no good to tax them at 60%, 70% or 80% if they end up only paying 17%.
