Thailand, where tradition, and lese-majeste, Reign.
The medieval price an author pays for insulting Thailand's monarchy

"I am led to court in shackles and chains. It's positively medieval. They're degrading and they bruise and lacerate the ankles. They make you feel you're guilty."

It is unlikely that this man will serve out his 3 year sentence for a sentence he wrote which the Thai's considered lese-majeste (insulting to the royal family) without contracting TB, hepatitis, AIDS, or PTSD. Can read about it here: http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/the-cost-of-insulting-royalty/2009/02/06/1233423495127.html?page=fullpage#contentSwap1

It might be cool to go to Thailand, but this (along with such acts as towing refuges out to sea to drown) is the government that you are supporting by doing so...

3. Note to self: you can't just go into any country and say any damn thing you want...
No matter how true or profound it is.

Other countries aren't like mine, no matter how much they should be.

4. Another note to self
If you are a refugee fleeing one of the most repressive governments in the world, don't arrive hungry and dazed onto the shores of Thailand.
