Poll question: DU Feature Request... Replies showing in "Most Recent" after 48 hours. |
|
While I know this could be a potential tax on the database, I think it would be a great thing to have the "Recent Posts" section of My DU show posts that are older than 48 hours show up again if they get a new reply to them within a set period of time (1-2 weeks?). I know that I personally miss replies to my posts in threads a lot because the thread is active for several days and my posts disappear from the "Recent Posts" section after 48 hours.
It would be a great feature to have for the smaller topic forums where replies from people can take days sometimes.
What do you think?

2. Hard on the database or hard on people? |
|
Not knowing how the database is organized and indexed, I couldn't say for sure, but it could be done with a "Last Reply" field on people's posts that tracks when the last reply was to your particular post, and index off of that.

3. A better way would be to restore the "re-order posts" function in archives |
|
That brings up an alphabetical (by username) listing of threads...by author, or date...
we used to have this feature..made looking for your own stuff a breeze..or by any other DUer
