Shameful. However, I am angrier that their privacy was violated. And the media is eating it up and condemning him (but not the others since apparently, the rest of the list isn't under scrutiny).

Is anything private any more? Suppose we found out one of these sports reporters was not the gender they were born as, do we have the right to harangue them? Or that they may have had 10 abortions? Or that they had 5 testicles? What right do they have to criticize when the records released and reported on by Sports Illustrated were supposed to be private.

I hope A-Rod destroys them in a law suit. This does not bode well for the rest of us.

Like Bonds, A-Rod never will escape this shame

4. I think baseball should just be up front and admit that we're all watching steroid games
It's so unfair that some engage in steroids then go on to win awards on the strength of steroids alone, everyone thinking they were playing fairly. He's a fake.

8. It's like saying the cadaver in somebody's house is not really dead because someone broke into his
house and found it there. Well, sorry, I don't care how this info. was found. Alex Rodriguez is a fake. And THAT is what stands out in all this.

5. Fraud on Wall Street is a very private affair...
The feds are far too busy with steroids and pharmaceutical pot to bother themselves about those missing billions.

a book about ARod. Surprise surprise. Funny how it's always Yankees who get their names released in the media.

I'd love to see the person who leaked this stuff prosecuted but basically it's open season baseball players and most fans don't even grasp the privacy issues involved here.

12. People need to imagine their own employer leaking drug test reults
It's weird to me how fans (even liberals) will reflexively take the side of management when it come to the sports leagues. Most fans support salary caps which do nothing but keep labor costs down for the billionaires who own the teams.

15. In sports, using steroids is cheating
Professional sports organizations have every right to determine if participants are cheating or not.

16. I still can't stand the media raking MLB over the coals while treating the NFL like a model sport
Edited on Sun Feb-08-09 02:36 AM by LSdemocrat
Do they really think that all those 325 lb.+ linemen, 275 lb.+ TEs, LBs, and 250 lb.+ of a number of other positions got their bulk in an all-natural way? Why aren't they demanding hearings on how so many players, despite weight training throughout high school and college, still manage to "fill out" and gain even more muscle after turning pro?

23. I'm sure you're right. My question now is, WHY don't they stop the bullshit and admit the *stars*
in all teams are steroid freaks? If it were all out in the open, then we could all get on with the business of watching sports, knowing full well many of them are taking steroids openly. This whole thing of admiring some guy for superb performance because he trained a lot and is amazing, when in reality what he trained with was a hypodermic needle, is ridiculous.

24. Ya know, ya came in here preaching how bad steroid users are
when the point of the thread is about releasing PRIVATE RECORDS. If you're on such a moral vendetta, start your own frackin thread about A Rod . Throw shit in someone else's thread.

Jesus. Get off your high horse and give us a break. Or go preach somewhere else where they care.

Fire anyone immediately who tests positive. Move on. Lots of young players out there ready to put on the uniform.
