please debunk jonah goldberg. Dems hypocrites when comes to paying taxes
sorry, but i have to get some work done!! if this has already been done, a link would do fine.
the question i was asked specifically is- can i supply the names of a dozen republican tax cheats. i did reply that i would think the names of a dozen war criminals might suffice, but that part was easy.

Dems are hypocrites when it comes to paying taxes
By Jonah Goldberg

During the presidential campaign, Joe Biden insisted that paying taxes is a patriotic duty. No, scratch that. He said that supporting a tax hike was the American thing to do. "It's time to be patriotic," he told America's putative tax slackers. When asked whether he might be questioning the patriotism of people who don't want higher taxes, Biden, as is his wont, took things to the next rhetorical level. Forget patriotism, said Joe, paying higher taxes is a religious obligation to help your fellow man.

Now, whatever the best articulation of liberal attitudes toward taxation may be, reasonable people can agree that Democrats inject a lot of moralizing, righteousness and finger-wagging into the issue.

As one leading Democrat put it: "Make no mistake, tax cheaters cheat us all, and the IRS should enforce our laws to the letter."

That Democrat was then-Sen. Tom Daschle in 1998. The same Tom Daschle, we've since learned, who failed to pay more than $100,000 in back taxes for perks he received as one of Washington's most relentless influence-peddlers — that is, until he realized he might receive a job in the Obama administration spending the money most Americans conscientiously send to Washington. Daschle withdrew his bid for the job on Tuesday, thanks to mounting pressure.

Yes, I would like to see that myself. That would be change I could believe in

1. Doughy Pantload automatically debunks himself. .
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 04:10 PM by annabanana
He hasn't said one right thing in ever so long. . .

That said, party affiliation is not the defining factor in who does or does not pay "all" their taxed. The richer someone is, the more likely they are to hire tax advisors who know all the dodges and the realistic chances of audit..

This only stops working for them when the white hot spotlight hits. .

3. Cherry-picked anecdotal evidence to support a biased conclusion.

5. In Goldberg's world all the Dems would all get a tax cut.
because they'd all be laid off or out of work.

7. Little Jonah parroting what a Repuke Senator said last week about why
Democrats like to tax. I guess he doesn't have an original idea in his head ever.

8. Except for one little thing . . .
See, all these Democrats paid their taxes. By failing to pay them timely or in full, they paid a penalty and interest. See, that's what law-abiding citizens do, Jonah. That's probably what threw you. When Republicans cheat, they lie, whine, and finally piss themselves and when the moment of revulsion hits, they make their getaway. Every last one of these Democrats acknowledged their mistake and rectified it.

And seeing the Doughy Pantload try to make sense of that is like seeing a dog watch a card trick.

10. Jonah Goldberg is the archetypical

conservative momma's boy. Dough-faced little cretin. If it weren't for his mother's notoriety, he'd be posting over at Free Republic along with the other basement-dwelling vermin.

Please excuse my strong language...

12. I don't get his whole point
A few individual tax mistakes some how equals hypocrisy of action of millions of liberals. That's the kind of logic that doesn't convince 10 year olds let alone an adult. What a dolt.
