These are the same people who are ignorant enough to think that what is good for the top 1% of the wealth owners is somehow good for them too. They are undereducated and anti-intelligence. I spent a day reading posts there for an editorial I wrote earlier today and I noticed that they talked a lot about Nadya Suleman being an "educated" woman and how that just proved that educated people are stupid ...or some absurd logic like that.

The point is that the education they get is from the likes of Rush Limbaugh and they buy into the idea that tax cuts are somehow going to help them....I saw a lot of the sort of nonsensical verbage produced by Joe the Plumber among those people. They are resentful and bitter about being uneducated and so attack anything that is intelligent.

I am very sorry to say that I only discovered this website recently. I really wish I had known about it during the long dark tunnel of the past 8 years because I had begun to think I was the only sane person out there. I live in Alabama ...that should be explanation enough.

I noticed something when I was studying DU and FR to compare how people talked about an issue. The people on FR were not only anti-intelligence and anti-education...it was obvious without them even saying so. I saw a lot of stuff written like this:

"he don't know no better."

That's the big reason why the Freepers don't like the stimulus bill. They don't understand it.

because of this bill. Call your state legislature and governor and tell them to reject any aid packages that might be earmarked for your state. Mail back, uncashed, any tax rebate. Refuse to take any extra tax credit that might have resulted from this bill. Refuse to accept any job on infrastructure, park trails, in a hospital or school, in construction or manufacturing that was created because of this bill, and continue to live in your car and forage for roots, nuts, and berries. What you refuse, we fools will try to incorporate into our nanny-state lives. somehow we will get by without you, though it will deeply sadden my heart not to be able to share whatever good I can wring out of this awful bill with my bredren who are so wracked by the scourge of socialism.

Never mind the fact that current Republicans and Libertarians are jumping over themselves trying to attack our three-weeks-in-office President for trying to do something about this and already CALLING for its failure and his impeachment; all the while glossing over the massive fuck-ups wrought from their neo-fascist deities for the past 28 YEARS. Being a Republican means NEVER having to explain how the brilliant strategery of "TAX CUTS FOR CORPORATIONS!" is going to help things when it's been a colossal failure every time it's been tried.

Being a Republican means NEVER having to answer for the amount of almost unrepairable damage their "leaders" caused this environment, the economy, our world standing and our morale.

And most importantly, being a Republican means that you believe in all your steadfast dumbshittedness that a governor who indebted a state less populated than Columbus, Ohio and wouldn't be qualified to manage a Burger King is a far better choice to run this country and get us through this crisis than Barack Obama.

Somehow, the word "hypocrisy" just doesn't quite cut it.
