Tonight's forecast for the San Fernando Valley is 34 F. The forecast
for Minneapolis, MN tonight is 38 F. Don't ever let anybody tell you we Californians don't get cold weather, and don't let Minnesotans get away with bragging. Remember, last year we had snow (ok, ok, it was graupel) in West LA.

That is all.

1. I drove in that graupel! It was weird to see it on the side of the 405 ...
Wow -- didn't know they were forecasting such a low tonight.
Will remember to turn my heat up tonight ...

3. And it gets to 34 how often?
There is a whole month in winter where I wish it got above 34, and half my parking lot is covered in piles of snow 10 feet high.

4. It could be 34 tonight and 84 next week.
Two weekends ago we were walking on the beach in Pismo Beach and it was in the 80's. Some people were in the water with swim suits not wet suits! That's cold!

5. Night to day comparison right?
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 07:23 PM by NutmegYankee
I take it the 84 was the high, and the 34 is a low, right? It was -8 roughly two weeks ago, and on Saturday it was 53. It swings everywhere. In MN, it was well below zero, and now it's 38.

On Edit: Thanks for the warm weather by the way, we gained 10 parking spots this weekend:toast:

8. I love mornings in the teens and below.
The dry air keeps the frost off the car windows. It's the mornings in the high 20's that suck.

6. and look back
to january of 2009: my brother, my son, all making me so homesick with their tales of 80 degree weather. the pictures they sent over the internets of the grandchildren in the pacific having a great time.

by the way, i'm in NC. we were having a blizzard when it was 80 over there. now you're getting down to 34 and tomorrow here it's gonna hit the 70's.

but it just does not get as cold in SoCal as it does elsewhere. that's why you all have more people than anywhere else dontcha know.

still homesick.

11. Here in the desert we get lots of cool and cold nights. I have flannel sheets,
two blankets, and a big comforter on my bed, and wear nice warm jammies and bed socks. The housing here until recently was built virtually without insulation.......so LAST January(2008) when we broke all sorts of records, I could barely keep the place at 50 even during the day. You may laugh, but cold weather can be a bitch here.

10. We just had a hail storm 200 miles up the road from you on the Central
Coast. I'll bet this storm is heading your way.
