"I inherited the deficit that we have right now" |
|
"and the economic crisis that we have right now."
Don't let that be forgotten.

that those who say there is pork in the economic stimulus bill are the same ones that doubled the national debt.

3. Yeah and our children and future generations will inherit the debt this "stimulus" causes... |
|
Yes it isnt his fault for the debt incurred until now, but this near trillion dollar additional debt will be his fault.

6. Let's do nothing, then. |

They'll inherit a country with a crushed economy, and massive unemployment.
Yeah, let's not spend the money.

I'm hoping to be proven wrong but I seriously see this as throwing away alot of money for little real benefit.
I couldnt off hand tell you what specifically what I think would fix the economy. But given the government's past history of wasting alot for no real gain this to me just seems like a rush job to spend a huge ammount of money and praying that it somehow works.
Maybe if they actually spent more than a couple of weeks throwing out ideas trying to hurry they might do something that could work.

10. Many of these road building, bridge replacement, federal building improvements |
|
have been on the various states and federal governments to-do list for many years, they have just been passed over in favor of defense spending by the Republics.
These things would have to have been fixed sooner or later. The ifrastructure of this country is crumbling.
Money that is destined to shore up levees in this country should have been spent forty years ago, per the Corps of Engineers.
This is not waste.
This needs to be done.
And historically, federally funded works projects have an excellent ROI. Good bang for the buck.
