was teddy roosevelt a blue dog
he seems fairly liberal as far as republicans go.

i've always read he was pretty good on the environment, labor and america
was not involved in any wars during his presidency.

how would he be seen today?

1. He'd be considered a liberal.
Seriously. I've long admired a lot of what Teddy did during his presidency and you can bet if he tried to do it today, the Republicans would crucify him.

3. No wars?
Maybe, but there was that little affair where we organized a rebellion in Colombia so we'd be able to build the Panama Canal.

5. These days he'd not be a republican
and on a poli sci grid he'd be seen as a liberal

That's how right we have gone

Blue Repukes are miles to the right of him economically. On foreign policy matters they'd be fellow travelers.

7. Likely a moderate Democrat... a Centerist if you like...
If he was called a Liberal he would probably use a big stick on the person. Since he and distant cousin FDR weren't politically sympatico and he disliked his niece Eleanor marrying Franklin.

8. He loved hunting (pro gun)
and was concerned about the declining birthrate suggesting that bearing more children would be a patriotic act. Many young women were not impressed with that idea.
