Chris Hayes on Olbermann - says the repugs win if the country goes into deep depression |
|
So Chris Hayes was trying to make the point that the pukes apparently feel that the only way they can ever win again is if the stimulus (and Obama) fail horribly and the country descends further into the abyss. He compares how, during the Bush Reign of Error, when Dems called for the end of the Iraq war, they were labeled un-American because they "wanted America to fail" - and he points out how the situations are not even comparable. He says the only card the pukes have to play is one in which the country spirals out of control, further.
But then I was thinking: since the historical pattern has been that Dems win in times of crisis, typically after an extended repuke binge that caused the crisis, and the pukes typically win when everything is going swimmingly after the Dems have fixed it all -- so how does a Great Depression help the pukes??
Looks like they are screwn either way.
No?

1. They'll try to blame him for not fixing it, or not fixing it fast enough. |

Carter faced a similar thing. Unemployment actually went up during part of his term, then reversed, and at the end of his term was about the same as when he came into office. Despite the fact that the uptrend in unemployment reversed, and had started before his presidency, he was cast as not making it better.

the bi-partisan system, that is, and want to rule the world; doesn't matter to them that the world they rule is disastrous for those who live in it.

Created by them and those failed policies. They are hoping they escaped the burning building in time after dumping all the gasoline and now can watch it burn.

8. They really do want the whole system to fail. |

Read the Shock Doctrine. They've done this, purposely, to Argentina, Poland, Indonesia, South Africa, and dozens of other countries, mostly in South America.
Now it's our turn.
The gap in your scenario is imagining that people who want to help other Americans have much, or any, control of what happens now. Surely you see the TARP money marching out the door into the hands of the already wealthy with nary a peep from our "leaders"?
