Mostly because that commercial pisses me off. Sorry I've already ranted on this but I get pissed off anew every night.  What strip club did they pull those "actresses" out of?

30. Are you thinking of
Pajama-gram pajamas?

Mr Pipi has gotten me three pairs of those.

One pair in the fleece, one pair in flannel, and the latest pair, French terry (for Valentine's day this year)

I love them...they're soooooo soft!

Forget silk...forget satin....

get me fleece or some other fuzzy material and I'm happy...

:)

Its not often that a commercial is both sexist, exploitative to both men and women simultaneously in completely different ways.

10. That's an extremely offensive commercial.
Since when have "ladies of the evening" worked in an office and when did anybody ever get so orgasmically excited about anything? :eyes: And who are those guys spying on them? Undercover cops?

11. That commercial is pure idiot.
Like it was made by moles from a rival company who want them
to fail. Those cartoon women are revoltingly airheaded and
vapidly yappy. Speaking of cartoons, though, I think I'm in
love with the pink-haired esurance girl!

That esurance girl is mine, mine, mine, mine. My wife even approves of it! (Having a crush on a cartoon character hardly ever pisses off a wife!)

I've had a thing for that pink haired superspy for a long time.

Also, boyfriend kicking is probably not a good idea. Doubly so because there are good odds he would have no idea wtf you were kicking him for.

20. I must have missed this ad somehow.
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 06:46 AM by Berry Cool
I mean, it's typical for these kids of ads to imply your girlfriend will give you lots and lots if you just buy her THIS for Valentine's Day, but this sounds especially bad.

On edit: OMG, I just watched it on YouTube...it is exactly as horrible as everyone said, if not worse!

How is it bad? Let me count the ways:

1. the overt (as opposed to covert, which is expected) emphasis on "Valentine's Night" and how a guy has to give a gift that guarantees he's gonna get some action

2. the streetwalker dress and porn-magazine looks of the alleged "office worker" girls, and their reactions to the teddy bear (including the most obvious double-entendre garbage about how "big" it is and how they could "kiss it and kiss it"), plus their high insipid voices, pouts and moues...honestly, you know these girls were recruited from the set of a XXX movie

3. the reactions of the guys as they pop up their heads like gophers from their cubicles, obviously getting SOMETHING up over the women's reactions to the bear

4. the dopey transparency of the one guy’s thought processes (“Hey, I’ve got a tattoo on my arm, right here! I’m gonna give my girl…the one with the TATTOO!”)

5. the big fist-pump the one guy does after he hangs up the phone (“Awwwright, I did it, I am THE MAN, I am gonna GET LAID this Saturday for sure!!! Yeah baby!!!!”)

6. the girl with the Monica Lewinsky lips (to be fair, they ALL have Monica Lewinsky lips) who says “I can’t WAIT to give him MY surprise!!!!!” and the guy who, overhearing this, taps his pen on the desk, picks up a picture of his girlfriend-the-nurse and orders her a nurse bear online (obviously, he’s badly in need of some nursing, and I don’t mean because he’s sick…well, not THAT kind of sick, anyway)

7. the closing line “It’s a sure thing”…not as in “It’s a sure thing to please your woman” but as in “It’s a sure way to get…the gift that keeps on giving, ifyaknowwhatwemean, hehheheh”

All I can say is one big…EWWWWWW!

23. It's Pretty Stupid
Don't know how you missed it. The woman are trampy and silly and the guys are all slugs and stupid. The commercial looks like it cost about $100 to make, start to finish.

29. If it's the thought that counts, why are presents needed?
A handwritten poem should be the gold standard, but something tells me it isn't.

Why are otherwise sane women so easily manipulated by marketers to expect expensive gifts on this contrived holiday? The whole marketing spiel for Valentine's Day is disgusting.

31. I don't mind that commercial, really...
I hate the Billy Mays commercials more.

But anyway, speaking of Valentines Day gifts, I can't see anything more wasteful than spending whatever it costs for a dozen roses that will die inside of two weeks.

Mr Pipi knows better than to waste money on stuff like that because I've told him...do NOT buy me roses. Period. He thinks I'm some kind of mutant because I don't like to get roses. Don't get me wrong...I love roses, but not for what they cost.

One year he got me a pretty amethyst heart necklace for Valentines day.

Jewels....yes!!!! :woohoo:
