Let's add a new word to the bailout debate: Restitution
The idea has been around for years,.... judges sentencing vandals to clean up the mess they made,... incompetent contractors sentenced to pay for the damage their bungling caused.

So why not the banks, high-rolling financiers and shady deriviatives peddlers? And by restitution, I mean the legal confiscation of their ill-gotten gains, their property, etc. Leave them with a house (modest) and a car. In any event, see that they do not profit in any way from their scheming and bungling.

I just have this nagging suspicion that somewhere (or all over the country) some rich-ass financier who helped create this mess has a kid driving a Corvette to college.
