Reading DU, a consensus appears to exist that the DLC is the enemy, more so the the GOP itself: A front for military, corporate, free trade at any cost interests, organizing 'the enemy within' the Democratic Party. I've read here about the history, NAFTA, PNAC, IRAQ. the pronouncements, the personalities, in other words the baggage. Would anywhere here like to defend the DLC, DLC politicians, their politics or even pragmatism? To paraphrase Rahm - it's not a good idea if it does work. Perhaps the DLC has hailed on it's own terms, laden with baggage and critical; errors, on the way to being an anachronism.
