Official Republican position is that economy is in a mess. |
|
Reality is that most of them have never had it better. Yet they want the USAmerican public to think they are having it hard. They have never had it
better. They want people to think they are getting hurt to, so that the public will think they are trying to help by opposing Obama.

4. I think he's been doing that. |

As I said, the one concern I’ve got on the stimulus package, in terms of the debate and listening to some of what’s been said in Congress is that there seems to be a set of folks who — I don’t doubt their sincerity — who just believe that we should do nothing. Now, if that’s their opening position or their closing position in negotiations, then we’re probably not going to make much progress, because I don’t think that’s economically sound and I don’t think what — that’s what the American people expect, is for us to stand by and do nothing.
And:
My administration inherited a deficit of over $1 trillion, but because we also inherited the most profound economic emergency since the Great Depression, doing little or nothing at all will result in ever — even greater deficits, even greater job loss, even greater loss of income and even greater loss of confidence. …
But what I — what I’ve been concerned about is some of the language that’s been used suggesting that this is full of pork and this is wasteful government spending, so on and so forth. First of all, when I hear that from folks who presided over a doubling of the national debt, then, you know, I just want them to not engage in some revisionist history. I inherited the deficit that we have right now and the economic crisis that we have right now.
I think that's letting folks know.

3. Apparently it's all President Obama's fault. |
|
That is, according to an email I received from my Uncle this morning. He said that he's watched the new administration screw up in the first couple weeks and is not going to invest until he's sure there will not be a serious economic downturn. What kind of crack are these Republicans smoking? It scares the shit out of me that an otherwise, semi-reasonable man could be so far divorced from reality. It makes me want to ram my head against a wall out of sheer frustration and exasperation.

7. Well since we can't decorate the oak trees with rpigs |
|
We make them irrelevant. I suggest we bend our thoughts toward brainstorming on that front. Take every opportunity to point that up. Does anyone have any Ideas? I m tired and stressed, not only by the eco mess, but my baby girl Dora, my seizure alert/aide dog is at the vets to get spayed today, in 7 years she has never been away from me for more than a few hours and that rarely. I worry about her trust in me. She was promised as a tiny 5 week old that i would never let anyone hurt her. I know its for her health..but does not take away the fear and guilt.
