The Valentines I mailed to family were all returned today with |
|
a stamp from the Post Office that I needed an additional 41 cents postage. These cards were all 6.5 X 6.5 inches. Is this now considered over-sized? I had the forever stamp on them and certainly thought that was sufficient. It is not like they weigh a pound. Whats up with this, anyone know?
Is the stamp I put on them still good or is that void? What a waste of money.

Sniffa sent his Dad a birthday card and it was returned like that. Too heavy for one stamp.
Oh and stamps are going up another 2 cents in May. x(

2. It's a shape thing, not necessarily a weight thing. |
|
Anything that isn't a standard letter or business size gets charged extra. It cost me a fortune to send my brother a lousy birthday card that plays music.

6. The stamps are canceled. From now, I'll be extra careful to send |
|
light weight, small cards to those on my "occasion" list. I'll certainly buy small Christmas cards this year too. So glad I bought some of the cards after Christmas that were on sale at Target. Which, if I remember, are larger than these. So were the ones I mailed last December and they did not come back.
The Valentines were not heavy so I guess it was the size. 6 1/2 inches square does not seem too big to me but what do I know. Now I am out the original stamps plus will have to find new envelopes, 82 cents more--nuts. I'm going to call and wish everyone a good day.

8. Sounds like a good solution but it's too bad it happened. |

And stamps are going up two cents in May.

5. Valentines to your family? |
|
I guess they mean something different in the US. In the UK, that would be the equivalent of suggesting incest.

9. A card is just a lighthearted greeting, gifts are mandatory for your partner though |
|
well I guess it's not mandatory if you don't mind breaking up or not getting sex for a long time
