1. I don't understand why the Democrats are doing more about this. |
What is the benefit of letting this race go under the radar? What am I missing?

2. Coleman's dragging out the appeal...Reid was told by Republicans... |
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 05:34 PM by Junkdrawer
not to seat Franken until Coleman has exhausted all appeals...Reid, of course, said "Yes Sir!".
Look for Franken to be seated in the 2012-2014 time frame.

3. Yes, he won. That much is certain. The votes were counted in the most open and fair way possible |
And now the Republicans do what they do best - block progress.

Who in hell is Coleman that he can't just step aside and lose like a gentlemen. republicans are worthless. Evil, self-centered poor losers.

...and as noted in an earlier post, some Democrats are spineless, cowardly appeasers.

10. Remember who you're dealing with, here -- |
this man was put in place by the Cheney-Rove-Bu$hCo cabal -- (from Wiki) -- ========================================= Coleman had made plans for a second run for governor in 2002, but was persuaded by Karl Rove and George W. Bush to run against incumbent Senator Paul Wellstone in that year's Senate election. The White House was determined to unseat Wellstone, and felt Coleman, with his popularity in heavily Democratic St. Paul, offered the best chance of doing so. Coleman easily won the Republican nomination. ========================================= You certainly wouldn't expect Norm Coleman to put the interests of Minnesotans ahead of his own selfish desires and the interests of the Grand Obstructionist Party? Silly you.

14. Who is Coleman? He's a republicon. They don't do fair, or the "American Way" |
They just do their own deviant, wide-stance, hypocricy-ridden, self-serving republicon Family Values.

6. Here's a clue to think on: MN has a legal process that must play out until its finish. |
Neither the Republican governor or the Democratic secretary of state will sign off on anything until the legal process is over and a winner is determined. This judicial process is open to both Coleman and Franken. If Franken had been the one behind by 225 votes would people here expect him to simply concede the election or would they expect him to fight for it? I realize that many relish the opportunity to call Democrats "spineless", but why not give it a rest until this process is finished. When Franken is declared the winner it will be big news and nobody will have to ask on DU about the status of the election.

7. +1. Even though it's taking a long time, I am proud of Minnesota's process and it is clear to |
everyone paying attention that Coleman's politics are drawing this out and depriving Minnesota of a voice in the Senate. He is wrecking his political future, for nothing.

11. Yes, Coleman is destroying his political career, but we should all want no questions |
about Franken's legitimacy in winning the election and that means this needs to continue by the numbers to its conclusion. I wonder if people realize what an outstanding reputation that Minnesota's election process has in this nation and that in the election they had the highest voter turnout in the nation.

8. How nicely passive. When we had a similar situation here in CA |
in a House race, the Republican leader seated the representative before our process was done.
That was wrong.
But it can't be helping Franken to be receiving so little support from the supine Mr. Reid.

They seated him before the process was over.

16. Does anyone know how the people of Minnesota are taking this? |
Just curious if they are getting tired and feel the recounts are being dragged on too long, or if they approve of the legal process.
