It's time to help the Koalas
After Chris and I posted a number of items about koalas in Australia desperately approaching humans for water during the Australian heat wave, a number of you asked where you could donate to help the koalas. One such organization is the Australian Koala Foundation. I did a little digging, and the good folks at Sea World/Busch Gardens highly recommends them, calling them "largest organization in the world devoted to preserving this species’ habitat and food source." So they're a good, reputable organization.

2. In Adelaide, a stressed koala mum left her baby
and the baby wandered to a house, looking for a little relief. The people put out a pan of water, and these photos show what happened next:

In a good world, we can help both species.

I love koalas and kangaroos, too. Really, all animals. I love all animals and I am not afraid to say it!

(but from what I see of DU'ers lately biodiversity is a silly non-issue around here.. yep, mass-extinction couldn't have anything to do with the HUMAN's future :eyes: I'm ashamed of people)
