Seder gets an MSNBC show?
From my inbox this morning:

Seder to MSNBC?

My Fellow Americans,

In the next few weeks MSNBC is going to choose a new host for their
10:00 PM slot-the spot right after Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann.

Some of my listeners have suggested I would be a good candidate to
take that slot. I'm saying to myself, "What the hell, Obama says we
need some stimulus. Maybe I can help." So, to gauge support for the
idea I'm inviting you to join a Facebook group. To join, just click on
the link below and then join the group.

Hey MSNBC - Bring Sam Seder To 10:00PM ET
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=61997817528

Once you join the group you'll get updates about how else you can help.

It is important to have more progressive voices challenging the Right and the
establishment media.

I'm already getting endorsement statements that will help me build a
fan base. Here are some examples:

"It doesn't say anywhere in the Constitution this idea of the separation of church and state."
-Sean Hannity

""I am addicted to prescription pain medication."
- Rush Limbaugh

"Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban,... And we need to understand that insurgency may be required..."
- Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee

So remember to just click on the link to join the Facebook group. Here
it is again.

Hey MSNBC - Bring Sam Seder To 10:00PM ET
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=61997817528

See you soon and thanks!

Sam

2. As They Say..."He Has A Face For Radio"
I've always like Sam...and wish he'd get a regular radio gig we could hear here in Chicago.

The dirty secret is radio people usually perform very poorly on television. They're two different mediums and a lot of resentment and competition between the two. I give Rachel tremendous credit for being one of the few who have been able to rise above and do well on teevee, but she's the exception.

6. The irony is that Sam wasn't a radio guy to begin with.
He was a comedian/actor who had never done radio before "The Majority Report" went on the air as part of the original Air America lineup. Originally he was supposed to be the "sidekick" to Janeane Garafolo on that show, but Janeane's other job made her a guest star of her own radio show, and Sam stepped up to the job, and was great at it. It's shameful the way Air America's treated him, but considering how they treated Mike Malloy, Randi Rhodes, Marc Maron, Mark Riley, and even poor Jerry Springer, that's not exactly surprising.

I'd love to see Sam Seder get an MSNBC show. On his own or with Maron, either way works for me.

3. Is he on the radio anymore? A weekend show if anything... So how...
...does a daily TV gig interfere with radio?

Seriously funny stuff, delivered daily. (I hear the audio podcasts, usually, myself, which are available from the AAR website coupla hours after each program.)

5. He's not on the radio...
He and Marc Maron perform a daily webcast on their own website that can be downloaded for podcast to your iPod with a subscription through Air America Radio's website.

They don't go out over the radio airwaves per se.

And Both Sam Seder and Marc Maron would kick ass on MSNBC

9. Seder is awesome.
But I wonder if NBC will view him as too progressive. After all, look at what they've done to Ms. Ambulance Caller, Rachel Maddow. I don't want to see another progressive hero of mine tainted.

10. Seriously, they'd have to take Maron, too...
and make it something that wasn't just another single-pundit-guy's take on the news of the day, too much like Rachel and Keith.

If they could do a mildly cleaned-up but still raw-enough version of Break Room Live every night at 10, that'd be great TV, and I think they'd kill in the ratings.

12. That's a close call for me, but Sammy wins out
But I'd be ecstatic if either of them got it.
