Happy Lincoln/Darwin Bicentennial, Thursday, February 12.
Getting some, but probably not enough, attention. I know the Lincoln haters will be out in force, but I for one am an admirer. Of him and Darwin, too. Extraordinary that they were both born on February 12, 1809. Influential? You bet. Please keep a good thought for both, and for what they said and did.

1. I've been catching some excellent programs on PBS and on the
so called history channels and on CSPAN.

2. Tonight at 9 EST, PBS has "Looking for Lincoln" with Henry Gates. Sounds great.
I will be watching.

History Channel? As usual, nothing. Why would they schedule something about either on the bicentennial of their births? Isn't there another "hunt for Sasquatch" they can show instead?

3. Hitler's Bodyguard! I've got Henry Louis Gates already programmed.
I would watch him reading a take out menu, he's always excellent. :)
