Where are all the fundies thrilled with octo-mom's decision to give birth |
|
to every single one of her embryos?
Isn't this what the whole stem cell brouhaha is about? Nadya Suleman should be as much a hero to that crowd as Sarah Palin is.

The Pro-life nut jobs should be lined up for miles trying to help her and her kids. Instead, they condemn the "black woman" who got a "free house" from Obama.

5. That may be so, but once the process is started you can't go back and uncreate everything. |

I swear I heard they were trying to promote adoption of every embryo created.

7. You are correct. There's also a breakdown by denomination. |
|
Catholic fundies are against IVF, Protestant fundies are generally not, though specific factions may be. For example, the Quiverfull people are opposed to any fertility treatment, as well as any birth control, including simple calendar watching and timing of sex to promote or avoid conception, believing that the odds of conception or lack thereof should be left up to god.

6. I think they heard "Nadya Suleman" and decided she wuz a furriner and mebbe a muslim. |

Anyway, if they were intellectually consistent, they would be supporting contraceptive access (to reduce the #s of abortions) instead of defending the 'right' of Jesus-drunk pharmacists to refuse to fill prescriptions, and trying to outlaw the pill.
So, there you go.

14. If she was Nadine Raylene Smith, blonde-blue eyed, in a prairie dress |
|
they would fall at her feet and worship her..
but alas..she's just a sad Angelina Jolie wannabee with a non-YOOOOOESSSSSAAAAAY name, and a whole slew of kids, who needs a whole-lotta money, and she's not a bit shy about asking for it..
The fetus-worshipers are not attracted to her kind..

8. once the kids are born they're on their own |
|
if Mom goes on public assistance then watch the hatchets fly decrying the evils of lack of personal responsibility. Until then all is quiet on the fundie front. Pray for her, yes, but don't send her any money.

11. She's already on public assistance |
|
Three kids on Supplemental Security - Disability (two for undisclosed reasons) + food stamps + MediCal will be getting the bill for the neonatal ICU care for eight babies and the delivery surgery (likely over a million dollars).
Using government figures, it will cost anywhere from 1.5 to 2 million dollars to raise the eight kids until their 18th birthday. She is unemployed, single, and not likely to be on the top of anyone's "must hire" list. So the chance that she will use public assistance to finance her family planning is quite high.

9. Could Ms. Suleman found a line they won't cross? |
|
These nutjobs were trying to cram food down the throat of a brain-dead woman who had been on a feeding tube for years. It seemed like there was nothing they wouldn't cavil at after the Terri Schiavo brouhaha. But maybe, just maybe, this was too much, even for the batshit crazy faction.
If that's the case, maybe we owe her a debt of thanks.

no longer worthy of fundie notice. They only count before birth or once they become giving members of the church
