else?

The tax cut sucks. Everything sucks. He might vote against the Stimulus Bill. Obama is a fool being led around by Geithner.

Who needs Republicans when Democrats can do all the attacking themselves?

I missed his name at the beginning.

edit to add - Peter Defazio.

Faux should have him and a Republican on as their balanced panel and they can both hit the shit out of the President.

1. He wants more infrastructure and less tax cuts
I only just caught the end of the interview. But it sounds like he doesn't trust Larry Summers and said so publicly. He challenged Summers to have more infrastructure spending in the president's budget and said Summers agreed to include it. So, we'll have to see what Summer's does with the budget.

Frankly, I liked hearing his skepticism regarding Summers.

3. After listening to him, we should just forget the Stimulus package because it isn't
worth it.

Nevermind.

7. He did sound very negative about it from what I heard from his tone
And that was only the last few minutes before the break at the top of the hour. Schultz didn't seem to know what to say.

11. He was extremely negative. He mentioned a water project that will get done in his
district but he isn't sure it is worth it considering the debt it adds.

Well, OK. Maybe we can get Obama to veto it or the House can not pass it. I guess the states don't really need the help.

As he said, all people get is $8 more dollars in their pay checks.

He said Larry Summers called him after he was on with Rachel and Summers said he would call him after the Budget comes out because Summers told him that some of the things he wanted will be included in the Budget.

A Republican couldn't have discredited the legislation more then he just did.

The House Dems and the Obama Administration will rise or fall together so I just wish they wouldn't go out of their way to discredit on another publicly but, then again, that is the Democratic Way. ;)

12. I don't trust Summers or Geithner.
I think they are only looking out for Wall Street. I am still very puzzled and troubled by Pres. Obama's selection of these two. I was disapointed in the choices of Daschle and Vilsack as well.

4. Defazio said the same thing on Rachel Maddow show.... Read on - Video...
Rep. DeFazio: ‘I Think Obama Is Ill-Advised By Larry Summers. Larry Summers Hates Infrastructure

http://thinkprogress.org/2009/01/23/defazio-on-summers/

Earlier this week, Rep. Jim Oberstar (D-MN) explained that funding for mass transit infrastructure projects was nixed from the stimulus proposal in order to make room for tax cuts. Despite the fact that tax cuts already comprise a bulky 33 percent of the stimulus (compared to only 7.5 percent for transportation infrastructure), conservatives are pressuring President Obama to include even more.

Tonight on the Rachel Maddow Show, Rep. Peter DeFazio (D-OR) said the amount of infrastructure spending in the legislation is “not enough.” He argued that if the Republicans are recycling failed ideas of the past, “we don’t need to buy them off with $300 billion in tax cuts.” DeFazio said Democrats in Congress originally proposed more for infrastructure spending, but the effort was shot down by Obama advisers:

There’s a pretty good consensus among members of the House that it should be more. But the dictate from on high in the negotiations with Obama’s advisers — I don’t think the President is there — I think he’s ill-advised by Larry Summers. Larry Summers hates infrastructure, and some of these other economists — who were very much part of creating the problem. Now they’re gonna solve the problem. And they don’t like infrastructure.

They want to have a consumer-driven recovery. We need an investment- and productivity-driven recovery for this country, a long-term recovery.

Maddow noted Obama speaks “very highly” of infrastructure. “If there’s a distance between him and his advisers,” she said, then that’s a problem. DeFazio responded, “He needs to know it, and that’s why I’m speaking out.”
.......

I think if I had to choose between Summers and Defazio I would pick Defazio!

6. I agree Obama is ill advised by Larry Summers--he should not be in Obama's Cabinet
he's a neocon Rubinist. That's what got us into trouble in the first place.

around fighting the good fight for the middle class for a very long time.

I'm sorry if he's not in love with Obama's Repo Sect. of the Treas. but then me neither.

So i won't throw Defazio under the bus because he's always been there when we needed him.

9. DeFazio is trying to fight the good fight and do what is right...
...not what is popular. It takes courage. I'm sure Obama could, at the very least, relate to the latter, if nothing more.

13. Because he is absolutely right
The key to what will happen is not the pretend stimulus, rather it is the Financial Stabilization Plan.

Hear any CEO's or bankers complaining about it?

You won't - it's a gift-wrapped present courtesy of Timmy.

Think about it - ever wonder why CEO's are so willing to go before Congress and let themselves be fodder for the evening news?

They know what's coming, and a little soon-to-be-forgotten tongue lashing is a tradeoff they are all too happy to make.

Don't take everything at face value just because you THINK your team won the game.

The dirty little secret is that both teams go to the same bar after it's over, and neither one wants the games to end.
