1. We are watching.
Best explanation of the whole housing mess that I have seen. The part on the rating agencies was really eye-opening.

I want to puke when I see Greenspan...

8. Why does anyone believe it?
I'm NOT watching. I know NBC (owned by defense contractor GE), has a very talented pool of writers. The corporates want you to believe the entire economic mess was brought about by people buying houses they couldn't afford. Sorry, that's not the case.

This show is a cover-story for BushCo, who decided "hands off" was the best approach to everything. Everything. Sorry, people would not be buying houses if banks were not letting them. Banks invented crazy bullshit mechanisms to profit off bullshit mortgages. To blame this on "the housing market" is a total crock, just throwing it back on the shoulders of Joe America while it was really Wall Street inventing ways to make money that brought this on.

9. as you say, you did not watch it. It was all about the hands-off feds + Wall St. greedmongers
It was a really good report, sorry you missed it.

14. Well okay, it sounds worthwhile.
I'm very surprised. I just don't ever expect to hear anything resembling "truth" from an NBC show unless it's on KO or Rachel's show.

17. If you can....it's being repeated. I expected it to gloss over the financial
industry's role and place the debacle on the home buyers but nope, surprisingly, they didn't!
