8. Iraq? That's So 2004...
When was the last report you saw from Baghdad...or even better...one that wasn't shot from the same old hotel balcony, but out in the streets with the people. The networks bailed on both that country and the obscene booooosh war...it wasn't sexy anymore, they couldn't milk it for ratings. Outta sight, outta mind. All that matters is San Francisco Salt Marsh Mouses and "bipartisanship" and arresting swimmers for holding a bong. Real world suffering...especially the type you can't show pictures of, just doesn't exist. Don't let it bother your pretty little haid...we need to worry more about our own little worlds, let the others deal with it on their own.

As always, a plane crash is a terrible tragedy. They still talk about Flight 191 around here...a plane that crashed and killed over 300...the 30 year anniversary is coming up and I can still feel the chill and horror of that day...and I was fortunate not to know anyone involved. What gets me is the non-stop "non-coverage". When I read about the crash last night, I popped on Chicken Noodle Nuze...got pretty much all I needed to know in about 3 minutes. A little while ago, I tuned around and they were still going on and on about the crash with little more than they had earlier, but plenty of "experts" and speculation. It's as though there's nothing else happening in the world...or that we're too "simple" to handle more than one story at a time.

Sis...don't even get me going about the mess that the boooosh regime made of the military and the culture of "ugly" that it promoted. Right now, I just want our troops out of Iraq as quickly and safely as possible and then to clean out all the "superpatriots" who tried to turn this war for profit into a religious crusade.

The real legacy of this ugly misadventure live in our VA hospitals and on the streets...the many veterans who not only went to hell and back several times, but now face an implosion on the home front...all thanks to georgie booooosh.

Honestly...the words no longer express both the anger and sadness.

:hi:
