3. I agree. Gay or straight, PDA is in poor taste. |
|
But why do we have to DO anything? Just ignore it!
There are other things that people do in public that are in poor taste. If I can ignore someone picking his nose or scratching his ass in public, I can ignore PDA as well. I can't imagine calling the cops if some fool wants to pick his nose while sitting on a park bench.

4. Yeah. Calling the cops is strange. Public mocking or shunning is usually sufficient. |
|
And I wasn't really put off by the gestures the "gay" couple was doing. To me that was just kind of general affection and not offensive at all.
The groping of that hetero couple though....ick.

Both gay couples' displays of affection were sweet, and not at all in your face, but I felt the hetero couples' actions were a bit off-putting - a sort of "look at me" behaviour.

Common decency; puritanism or any other excuse is utterly irrelevant.

5. The public should be spared from heavy duty pre-coitus behavior, aka foreplay |
|
by any couple of any orientation.
Glarg.
I do not need to see that shit while I'm sitting at the doctor's office/in line for groceries/ordering some nachos, etc..
I don't find it to be a gay/straight issue, I find it to be an "all things in moderation" issue.

6. exactly - too much affection in public is yucky to stumble upon |
|
my friend and I went to Hollywood Beach last spring and a very young couple were, shall I say, appearing to be thrusting in the sand with him on top, and there were little kids all around playing, and several adults. Now, if I had kids I'd have walked up to them and told them to get a room, but, when they went by me to the bathroom when they were done, I said, 'great show!', the girl asked him why I said that, he looked away embarrassed and said nothing and he was built, so I'm glad I didn't get the crap beat out of me, but I couldn't believe they'd be so perverse to be humping with about 15 ten-year olds playing just feet away.

26. It's quite irrational to go from "kissing in public" to "screwing in front of 10 year olds." |
|
Despite what some people raised on this country's obsessive puritan streak may think, there's nothing wrong with people kissing.

They shouldn't have told city police what they were doing so they could see what the cop would have done without knowing he was on camera. You could tell what his attitude was by the way he did his asshole cock-strut toward the two men. They might have had a real news story.

8. I really dislike "what would you do" shows. |
|
By the way they probably have to inform the authorities. They are filming a show in the middle of the city.

12. Foreplay, face-sucking, groping: gross. Affectionate touches, a light kiss: very sweet. |
|
It's not a matter of gay or straight, it's a matter of good taste and good manners in public.
What would I do? I couldn't watch the whole video, but with the hetero couple in the coffee shop I'd be inclined to say "Get a room!" just loud enough to be heard. The other patrons would likely applaud. The bit with the two gay men on the park bench -- well, as I said, I didn't watch the entire video, but it looked like young love to me, laughing and touching. Depending on my mood I might either smile at them or look away, but I certainly wouldn't call the cops.

The bit with the horses is part of a very old saying, probably superceded by John Lennon's "Why don't we do it in the road?" LOL

Attractive people kissing is not a crime.
Some couples on the other hand rank from a misdemeanor to a felony.

Gay, straight, Cat on cat, who cares?? WHat this worlds needs more of is affection not less. I call for great Dionysian orgies in the streets. As a side note I might add that everyone should be in an orgy at least once in their lives.
