What the hell is wrong with Obama's nomination process?
Christ, this is getting ridiculous. Remember back in November, the fuss made about his vetting process? No cabinet member of his was going to have any skeletons in their closets, nosiree. Yet it's clear now that the vetting process was and is a joke. Apparently the big vetting process to was make sure that Bill Clinton would not cause any embarrassment to Obama. You know, it's sick enough when Republicans obsess about the Clenis. But a freaking Democrat? You must be joking.

And worse, we've had three nominees with freaking tax problems. Remember the saying "In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes"? Apparently that doesn't apply to cabinet nominees.

While Obama's going all out to look "fair and balanced" (where have we heard THAT one before?), he's really making himself look like a fool. So Judd Gregg withdraws his nomination because of "irresolvable conflicts". Here's a hint. By nature, Democrats and Republicans should have "irresolvable conflicts". (Although unfortunately not nearly enough of them do). And make no mistake. Gregg's withdrawal does not make him look bad; it makes Obama look bad. Again.

So lets stop the BS and get some real Democrats in the game, Democrats that will work for the people and not the status quo. Is that too much to ask?

14. This is clearly a flaw in Obama.
He must see Republicans for what they are. Their main objective is to discredit him in any way they can. They pray that the economy continues to struggle. They pray for another 9/11 style attack. Is there any doubt on this? Of course there are decent Republicans but they are so frickin' rare. Obama can't continue this "love thy enemies" approach.

24. It's not a "flaw." He has been slamming their "failed policy ideas" NATIONALLY in case you haven't
noticed. Trying to actually take some high road and reach out doesn't mean he is "flawed." It is called "character" and is actually trying to be more of a uniter than what we just had for eight years. At this same time, this wonderful and brilliant man has no illusions about the R's and their ideology, and he has been saying so and blasting them pretty hard for it. So chill out and give this man a chance. Or would you rather have Bush back?

2. Chill down my friend, or perhaps you'd like Mr. Bush back in office?
The cabinet we have under Obama is a collection of angels from heaven, on balance, compared to the band of neocon corrupts assholes we had under the Bush regime. Kindly subdue your hyperbole, count your god damn blessings, and see the glass half full rather than half empty. Finally, step out of the circular firing squad, support OUR president, and be god damn happy that Mr. Bush is GONE. JESUS !

8. Stupid does not get smarter with three posts
You offer false dilemma arguments as though filling a cabinet with democrats would somehow bring bush back into office.

12. Well I reckon...
having two broken legs is better than Bush too. But if that means I should be satisfied with that, then I have very low standards indeed.

When will fools like you ever, ever grow up and get it. We have a DEMOCRATIC president. We have CHANGE now. And what do you do, you IDIOT? You shit all over it right out of the gate. Go back to nursery school and learn how to be happy with all you have rather than pissing and whining about what you don't have. Try giving Obama and his people a chance before you start forming your circular firing squad. Or do you need you need a baby bottle? Try growing up.

that you note have to do with picking politicians to fill political positions.

11. Some of the tax problems are minor..some are not.
Frankly there should be no tax problems all of these folks have advisors..they need to pick better advisors. Even I would know that getting a car and driver would require that I pay taxes on the benefit, unless the giver had arranged for the taxes to be paid.
Hilda Solis is on the side of labor, the tax problem was her husbands , he paid it and it was on a business that she has no interests in.
We all know how much the rpigs hate 'real' wage earning people.
Judd Gregg actually asked President Obama for that position then back out at the last minute..seems like he did it to make waves.
HOw many from the far side of sanity have tax problems? Maybe we should look into All congressional peoples taxes from both sides.

17. No .... he found out that vocabulary beyond "TAX CUT" necessary
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 10:54 AM by TWiley
and, he could not pronounce all the syllables. He missed that chapter in his "hooked on phonics" lesson. "Tax Cut" is all he can say, and he looks suspiciously at every other economic argument. To him, they look the same and he simply could not differentiate between a box of wheaties and a tin of axel grease.

Good Riddance

25. Set the bar too high.
He has misunderstanding that America's wish for a better government and distaste for corruption along with our disgust for the partisanship bickering that cripples our government is an achievable goal in today's sick and twisted 2 party system which relies on both corruption and petty partisanship to thrive.

The two party system only gives us a perception of democracy.
