4. It is easy to dump on poor people.
If you don't like them you can blame them for the situation they are in. Since then it is their own fault, you can rationalize not helping them. You can point out to your kids what will happen to them if they don't listen to you. PS using "you" in the cumulative sense..

9. The whittling away at programs on the stimulus bill.
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 11:59 AM by .... callchet ....
The White House is seeking to restore funding cut by the Senate for schools, health insurance and computerizing health records as the economic-stimulus plan headed into a final round of negotiations in Congress, with top lawmakers struggling to bring the price of the two-year package down to $800 billion. Republicans complaining about spending, when the spending they are complaining about would help poor people. They look to the bible to validate not helping poor people. "The poor you will always have with you" Matthew 26:11 Any cut in spending is a cut in help to the poor people. On the contrary they are looking for another tax cut.

2. Don't like because we need validation for all that we have sacrificed to $$$$
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 09:19 AM by patrice
If everyone does not re-assure us that what we've given up, denied, never followed that instinct, never took that other road, suppressed and oppresed all kinds of things in ourselves and others . . . If EVERYONE does not validate and reassure us that none of that was worth what we got in exchange for it, i.e. $$$, we don't like it and we punish them.
