This must be getting serious, the Bailout cost is now approaching the annual Defense budget |
|
minus the cost of unclear weapons, veterans benefits, the interest on all previous wars, the war in Iraq, and the war in Afghanistan of course and completely devoid of any "black ops" costs as well.
We spend far in excess of a trillion dollars a year on defense. How many jobs does that buy us? How many people do Boeing, Raytheon, and KBR, and all the others employ? And what do we get for our money? It is ludicrous to say that troops in Iran or Afghanistan protect or borders in any way at all - air marshals do more to protect us. Evidence would suggest that our Intelligence apparatus is near useless as well; and at an expense far greater than dollars, at the expense of our very freedoms.
