I love the guy.

I'm glad he put aside the bullshit rumors about the assumed Clinton snub at the inauguration. (There was NO snub. They had just finished spending about 15 minutes together back stage and there were hand shakes, hugs and kisses and congratulations all around.

I nominate Jimmy Carter for America's Patron Saint.

Not only do I love what Jimmy Carter said about the Republicans being robots, but since he is at an age when he can say whatever he likes, I wish he would speak out more. He can say it like it is and doesn't have to worry about re-election, which gives him credibility. Speak out more, Jimmy.

The question Why was Reagan buying missiles for Iran in the mid-1980s? has a natural answer: Reagan had cut a deal with Iran during the 1980 Presidential campaign, so that Iran would not release the US Embassy hostages until Reagan took office. That enabled Reagan to take full advantage of the Embassy hostage issue, which undercut Carter's re-election campaign. And sure enough! the hostages were released instantly after Reagan finished swearing the Presidential oath in January 1981

18. I understand. I grew up in GA when it didn't seem to be as bad,

moved to TN and both states have gone to hell, but I admire Jimmy Carter, and so has my recovering republican mother. She even stated to me that Carter was the last decent, caring president that we had, and then she voted for repukes (even Bush**). Try to figure that one out, lol!
