Reid: "I will never forget (valor) of the 3 Republicans who broke from the pack and stood alone." |

...and did what was right for the economy of the country. Collins, Snowe, Spector.
Speaking now on the floor of the Senate after the passage of the economic stimulus bill.

7. Sad that only 3 are willing to do what's best for the country |
|
The GOP is playing a risky game. They are hoping the stimulus fails so they have something to run on. If it succeeds, then they'll pay the price for many years to come. It's horrible that the GOP's future is based on our country failing.

(Valor)? What they did was allow for a bill to pass while giving their party political cover. Even if the economy roars back to life in 18 months, they all intend to chant the mantra that this bill is everything that's wrong with the economy. Put more simply -- now it'll be our fault, not theirs.
Specter has already pissed off the GOP right, and has hinted that he won't run. Neither Snowe nor Collins are up for re-election in '10, and Dems in Maine tend to vote for them anyway.
What these 3 did was allow the Republicans to go along with the bill without actually appearing to be bi-partisan.

19. And the press tells US that NO Republicans voted for the bill. |
|
So, Republicans get to sabotage the bill as best they can, then sit back and claim it was all the Dem's fault.

Harry Reid ass kissing the rethuglicans again. If this SOB Reid had a pair of balls, he would have called their bluff, killed the fillibuster, and let them suffer the consequence. I can't friggen believe he allowed these three thugs to control the outcome of this "democratic" package. I'm beginning to suspect that Reid is on the pad to the rethugs.

and would have if he wasn't a spineless wuss.
Personally, I'm not going to be sending those three any thank-you notes.

Legislation that increases the deficit requires 60 votes.

I'll drop them a nice thank you note as a matter of courtesy, but frankly that whole party needs to be put in its place.
