MSNBC's Tom Costello just discussed how crash of Flt 3407 might be Bush's* fault. |
|
He talked about how after a crash in 1994, new regulations were proposed by the NTSB for de-icing and the FAA has resisted. The FAA has also resisted NTSB's recommendations involving changing aircraft design and other icing safety. Among the issues recommended was Not To Deploy The Flaps which may be why Flt 3407 crashed. He said economics of training and retrofitting may be why the FAA, under Bush* leadership, decided not to require the airline companies to expend the money. For ten years, the NTSB has accused the FAA of dragging its feet.
A new administrator for the FAA has yet to be named. The question is whether the FAA will require safety changes regardless of cost.

3. 9/11 can also be blamed on the Republicans. |
|
Gore wanted the airlines to safeguard the pilot's doors. The Republican congress did not want to pressure the airlines because it would cost money. Not Bush's fault but he did not change anything after he was elected.

4. The Republicans general no regulation attitude |

Seems blameable for both these events.
According to them, the airlines would have done all this on their own as good marketing.

5. More "free market" crap. Can you imagine the ads for differentiating your airline from |
|
another on safety? "We kill fewer people than our competitors because we implement better safety procesdures." I guess Repukes like that idea. In fact, it would probably almost kill the industry because people would be so anxious about flying.
