Wash. burglary victim drives off in thieves' van

BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) -- A man in Washington state made sure a pair of burglars didn't get away with his three flat-screen televisions - he moved their getaway car.

Patrick Rosario was in the basement of his Bellevue home on Tuesday when he heard the burglars upstairs.

The Seattle Times says the 32-year-old Rosario, who had been laid off from his job as a Washington Mutual manager, called 911 while he sneaked out of the house.

He saw a white van sitting in front of his house with the motor running and the keys in the ignition, and he got in and drove it to a friend's house.

6. I can only imagine the surprise on the burglars' faces when they
discovered that their van was missing. What a twist on a tale.

7. This, and the story about the couple who made the thief clean up their place
while waiting for the police to arrive, have made me chuckle every time I think about it.

Thanks for posting. :hi:

8. I remember a story once
About an older couple going out of town on vacation came back and noticed something weird about their house so they stopped a few houses down, and the husband snuck a peek in the backyard, and there was the whole neighborhood using his pool and barbecue and joking about it. It seems that they never allowed any of the neighborhood kids to use their pool because they knew if something happened to the kid in question, they would be sued. So the guy snuck back to the car, called the police, and had the entire neighborhood arrested.

13. Heck, I don't blame him
As I recall, they were planning on moving sometime in the near future. During the aftermath of mass arrest, parents would send their kids to knock on their door to ask them, "Please don't press charges against my mommy and daddy," which would inevitably elicit a door getting shut in the child's face. :)

16. I heard about this on the radio
earlier today and laughed my ass off. How perfect. Really.

Like another DUer mentioned, I thought about the crooks possibly filing charges against him for stealing their car. I doubt that wwuld happen, but I wouldn't put it past this new generation of crooks.
