RNC Chairman to Glenn Beck: "You have absolutely no reason, none, to trust our word or our actions at this point." http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/02/14/rnc-chair-steele-on-gop-n_n_166965.htmlVideo also at link This guy is about as good as Palin, the gift that keeps on giving

He likely didn't mean to say that, but it doesn't matter. He said it and it's true.

4. Watch the clip. He's quite emphatically saying exactly that. |
|
Steele recognizes that the Republicans have fucked up badly, and he's smart enough to know that if you acknowledge and apologize, people are more likely to trust you than if you play Dubya and pretend nothing happened.

3. He's being quite honest and quite sane. Their party has a huge credibility gap, |
|
and Steele knows. The first step to fix that is to acknowledge that.

It's much better for us when Republicans act oblivious.

7. Republican "honesty" at this point is too little, too late, and all too predictable. |

11. I agree; it's quite cynical. |
|
He may apologize for their failures, but keep in mind that he is not apologizing for his ideas; he is apologizing to a flaming right-winger for not successfully implementing the (awful) right-wing ideas they share. We certainly can't afford to give them yet another chance.

14. Good luck with that. The GOP has to lie, no one would ever vote for them if they were really honest. |
|
Think about what they truly stand for...

8. What is it with right wing morons and the "Fool me once..." saying? What do they not get? |
|
Bush said, "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."
Beck now says, "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, oh, my gosh!"
Twits.
