Kidding. :)
:hide:
I don't have it yet. Like you, I'm getting it next month when it officially becomes available at my apartment complex. I've heard good things and have had some experience with demos.
I'm chiming in mostly to say that when I worked for Cox Communications, the emergence of U-Verse was one of the reasons I started looking for a new job. Satellite television was never considered serious competition in the cable industry. It drew away some customers and provided fodder for advertising, but that was about it. When U-Verse started coming onto the scene, the execs at Cox got scared, scared enough to completely change their sales and product structure. They've spent tens of millions just *preparing* to compete with U-Verse. It's a real player with an excellent product that can outperform cable by leaps and bounds once the infrastructure is in place.
The downside is that you have to deal with AT&T, but then dealing with a cable company generally is not all peaches and cream.

7. Well, I already have AT&T for Internet, home phone and cell phone |
|
so I'm used to dealing with them. I haven't really had any problems. We're going to keep our landline phones because my husband may start looking for a work-at-home customer service type job, and they all require landline phones -- VOIP isn't allowed. I ordered the U-400 cable package and the U-verse Internet to replace our AT&T High Speed Internet.
I'm intrigued by the number of channels available -- especially all the additional movie channels -- as well as the ability to record 4 things at once and to watch them on any teevee hooked up to U-verse. Now I'm forced to watch anything I DVR in our downstairs family room, which is very cold in the winter. It will be nice to be able to watch stuff I've recorded upstairs.

3. I've had it for 2 years for tv and internet. |
|
I have had no problems at all. The internet service is fast and reliable, and I like the DVR. If you have more than one receiver, you can DVR a show and then watch it on any TV with a receiver.

I went to the website, but I don't want to watch a bunch of demo videos. I just want a simple definition.

9. I'm not that technically savvy to describe it, but |
|
it's basically fiber optics for Internet, phone and cable. Everything comes in over the phone lines, I believe.

Kinda like the cable company fiberoptic package deal -- except not cable. Gotcha.
Thanks! :hi:

5. Sharon....give us an update after you get it....... |
|
...... because I've absolutely had it with a cable/internet company that begins with C and ends with T, and sometimes has talking turtles in its commercials.

10. Luckily I have WOW and haven't had to deal with that particular compan |
|
WOW has actually been just fine, but I like the additional capabilities of U-verse. I've been waiting months for it to become available in Huntington Woods and it finally is. They'll be out on Wednesday to install.

6. We like it fine except for the audio on some of the movie channels. We've called 3 times and can't |

get it resolved. But otherwise, it's great. And yes, I love the DVR, too.

It's a really good service. Pretty reliable. We had problems with it when we first got it but U-verse was a brand new service so I guess that's to be expected. We've only really had problems once since then. It would freeze up and, at times, would take several hours to stat back up. The main problem was getting someone that could fix the problem to come to the house. ATT's customer service is horrible. They sent out 4 techs before we finally got someone who could fix the problem. The problem was as the line that come to house from the pole and ATT kept sending people who could only look at the box on the back of the house.
One thing I really like is the DVR. About six months ago, they added the capability to watch shows stored of the DVR box from the other non-DVR boxes in the house. The internet service is great...never have a problem with it being too slow. We had so many problems with Comcast's internet which is the main reason we left them. I think you'll be happy with U-verse

14. It's been great since late 2007 |
|
Before that, they had a few technical issues that occasionally made the system unusable for a while.
Like the others here, I really like the features and the ease of use...
